About
Us
Bellhop Greetings is a woman-owned business based in Chicago, Ill. I started out designing
Christmas cards for friends, then got this lark about applying for the DIY Trunk Show, then I actually got into the
show...and it just snowballed from there. I don't have your typical graphic design
background. I have a journalism degree and an editing career. But I did grow up in a house
where literature, art, history, and humor were important. Greeting cards allow me to
combine all those things in a neat package. My inspiration can come from many places: song
lyrics, snippets of poetry, Art Deco advertisements, conversations, WPA posters, or even a
gloriously curving bit of typography.
Community
Giving is good. Helping is good. To that end, Bellhop Greetings uses a portion of its
profits to support Partners in Health, a
medical charity providing community-based health care to impoverished people around the
globe. They do amazing workyou should go see.
Whenever possible, Bellhop Greetings uses recycled products
in its greeting cards, envelopes, and packaging. We are currently looking for an
alternative to PVC soft-fold boxes. Contact
us if you have some ideas.
